Vampires, Whiskey, and Southern Secrets
(Masie Kicklighter, #2)
by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff
Amazon / B&N / BB
From New York Times bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff comes a story with Southern feels, more cussing than Mamma approves of, and a vampire who thinks being hot is enough to win her heart: Vampires, Moonshine, and Southern Secrets.
HE’S FIVE HUNDRED YEARS OLD. SHE’S NOT IMPRESSED.
My name is Masie Kicklighter, and you’re never going to believe what our local vampire is up to this time. He honestly thinks he’ll get away with it, too.
Bless his undead heart.
Because this is still my town, and I’m not about to hand it over to a five-hundred-year-old vampire, just because he’s hotter than our Kicklighter whiskey.
Oh, and by the way, don’t drink the moonshine.

Y’all are about as useful as a fork at a soup shop.
I had never wanted to become a vampire, but the thought of being with the man I loved and knowing our romance wouldn’t end with me dying of old age or with him having a heart attack like my Mamma went through, well, I can’t lie, it had sounded pretty un- terrible.
This situation was a powder keg rolling down a hill of lit matches.
Roman had his uses, but whatever had been done to him during his human life had left him one squirrel short of a squirrel hat.
My Review:
Reading anything written by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is a fun undertaking as I revel in her cleverly contrived and whimsical conundrums, which are laced together with snarky humor and oddly bent characters. I smirked my way through my perusal of the second Masie Kicklighter adventure, which left me eager for more due to the lingering question of whether she is or isn’t going to be a repurposed person.
