My Review:

This toxic collection of relatives was all kinds of creepy and had a family tree that was rotten and diseased to the roots. The storylines were taut with tension and populated by vile and disturbingly black-hearted human beings. I was on edge yet deeply intrigued and unable to let the story go, even when I put my kindle down and went about my day. I also found that I was so invested in the story I was occasionally fretful during perusal. Elle Marr is a sly minx, her tale sucked me in, tossed me around, and spit me back out all disheveled and exhausted. Her word voodoo is strong and held me captive. I now need a spa day and a vat of wine to relax my shoulders from my ears. I’m running back to check her listing to see what else she has conjured.

Dixie’s found her way back home again, and this time she wants to stay.

All it took was four days. Less than a week and my emotional cocktail of love and concern were stirred up again—for Deke, and my hometown. The big career I’d built was no substitute for the quiet life I left behind. Deke loved me, supported me, and wanted only the best for me. Kissing Creek raised me, knew me, and when it was time, let me go. Now the idea of returning to my hometown fills me with joy and hope. And Deke? My Review:

I enjoyed the conclusion of this delectably steamy and pleasantly amusing second-chance small-town romance. It was my favorite and the least angsty of the three installments and had Dixie finally pulling her head from her colon and delivering that much prized HEA. Sigh.

Another bitingly witty, cleverly plotted, complex, and multi-layered thriller full of twists, sensuality, scandals, and subterfuge. I lapped up every perfectly chosen and evocative word, snarky misdirection, and vibrant detail like a starving dieter on a binge. The characters were so fabulously flawed they were teetering on the edge of ruin yet I was fascinated by their work ethic and continued successes despite their jagged histories and poor choices. Shari Low is a skilled scribe and master storyteller while the synergy in pairing with Ross King has yielded a dynamic and explosive combination. I hope there is more to come as I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

I had to keep the fans on high and libations close at hand to ward off dehydration while reading these saucy and salacious tales.  These are far more licentious than my usual read and her rom/coms, yet Ms. Fenske continues to conjure up classy and amusing erotic romances that kept me alternating between gasping and smirking.

Holy scorched sheets!   This one contained enough sizzle and snap to melt the paint off the wall. I am hooked on this deviously continuing tale of the small-town gone big-city return of Dixie, who has come back to bury her heinous excuse for a father. Actually, both her parents were egregious parentals as well as failing as human beings. The various storylines are equally engaging while laced together with clever wit, poignant insights, heart-squeezing memories and interactions, and breath-stealing sensuality. I am anxiously awaiting the conclusion of this addictive saga to hit my kindle.

I didn’t expect to like this one as much as I did as the main character of Cassie is a piece of work, impulsive, rebellious, stubborn, selfish, immature, and a drama llama. But I adored Cedar! The writing was breezy and amusing, and the storylines were deliciously smirk-worthy, easy to follow, active, and well-paced.

My Review:

I have the worst book hangover ever after working through all the feels of this one – oh my! Jewel E. Ann excels at breaking my heart and putting it back together, and she has accomplished this fete several times in each of her beautifully written stories. Her prose is profoundly poignant and heartbreaking, compelling, cleverly insightful, deliciously witty, and painfully perceptive.

Written from a dual POV I was quickly sucked into an addictive and angsty vortex and slotted into the thick of it, fully invested, completely immersed, and living within her characters’ skins while seeing through their eyes, and feeling their discomforts and shame when they struggled and failed, as all real people do. I am staggered by the agility and depth of her crafty storytelling and know it will take me some time to recover from the heady spell of her word voodoo. I’m reluctant to leave these characters behind.

Dixie might belong in Kissing Creek, but she’s got too many reasons to leave.

A decade ago, I had a plan. I’d graduate high school and make my place in the small southern town I belonged to. I’d leave my daddy’s run-down single-wide and ignore him when he got ugly. I’d send my mama to voicemail when she called from her fancy life in Chicago. Mostly, I’d wait for Deke to get through college and come back to me and the life we’d build together. I didn’t realize how suddenly plans can change.

This just happened to be a gripping yet tiny soupcon of a tale that has me ensnared. I am hooked on this compelling, angsty, and sizzling coming-of-age story, which is quite surprising as I’m no fan of angst, yet I must know what happens to these people. I am intrigued yet outraged that I have to wait several weeks for another serving of this addictive saga. Ruthie Henrick is an evil minx, she is also a talented storyteller but cliffhangers are diabolical contrivances.
