Meet the Coalsons:
A few years ago, the tiny village of Grafton, Illinois, nestled along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River, was almost completely
destroyed by flood. Rather than pull up
stakes and move elsewhere, many of the residents vowed to rebuild their hometown, making
it bigger and better than ever.
One of these residents was Mac Coalson. The eldest son of Hank and Ginny Coalson, Mac, together with his parents and his six brothers, set about the arduous task of clearing, cleaning, and repairing what could be saved. Coalson Construction Company was determined to make the village bigger and better than ever.
What no one expected, though, was that not everyone was happy to be rebuilding the town. When vandals strike the new construction, it was up to Mac and his brothers to catch the culprit before anyone is hurt. While laying a trap, Mac thought he had captured the criminal, but instead, he finds sassy spitfire, Dixie Harris, has stolen his heart. But when the vandal turns to arson, it may be too late to save his brothers.
When Sam Coalson, ex-Navy SEAL, heard about the troubles in his hometown, he decides to head back to Grafton, despite being run off fifteen years ago by the father of his high school sweetheart. He can’t forgive Angel Devereaux for her part in his humiliation, but he can and will find out who is behind the destruction of the new buildings. But what he finds leads them all into a sinister plot to run drugs through their tiny town and it’s up to Angel to save him from certain death.
Charming Chance Coalson helps his brother run their construction business with a ready smile and a strong back. Considered the “Casanova of the County”, his love for women is legendary. But he’s recently realized that his heart belongs to shy volunteer firefighter, Georgia Haines. Now, he must prove to her that this “bad boy” has become a one-woman man, and he must do it before she becomes a target for a killer.
With only a small clue to the whereabouts of the arsonist, Lawrence “Lucky” Coalson heads to Las Vegas. While posing as a bouncer, Lucky finds himself ensnared by the lovely bartender, Claudia. But, like Lucky, she’s not what she appears to be and what happens in Vegas follows Lucky back home with unimaginable consequences.
Brandon and Nick foil an attempt to assassinate a pretty private eye and her sweet sister. Together with Sam and his best SEAL buddies, Jax and Noah, they vow to bring the ringleader to justice and rid their town of the criminals. Not to mention, the new secretary is definitely hiding something and it’s going to take all of Brandon’s sensuous skills to find her secret before a psycho ends her life.
But nothing goes according to plan, and the men must fight Mother Nature, a murderer, and local law enforcement. When Lucky’s luck runs out, the private eye sisters forge a bond with the brothers to find the real killer.
While it appears the whole community is going to hell in a hand-basket, Hank and Ginny Coalson are thankful that their youngest son, Tanner, and Dixie’s younger brother, Jamie, are away at school. But are they safe enough, when the drug lord and a murderer combine forces that leaves a family member dead? No one knows where or when the criminals will strike, so Hank and his sons make their own preparations and in the end, no one is in doubt that the Coalsons are taking back their town.

Whistling Dixie – Book #1
He gave her what he must’ve considered his devilish smile. Two rotten front teeth and a line of dried tobacco spittle had Dixie cringing back. His fetid breath assailed her as he stepped even closer.
Apologize to you? When pigs fly, you Mississippi River rat. I wasn’t the one caught fornicating in the parking lot of the local pizza parlor. Hell will freeze over before I apologize.
I tried sending flowers, but she apparently overturned the vase and dumped the contents on the florist’s shoes, which I felt obligated to reimburse him for, but the way.
Dixie had worked herself up to quite a state of rage. When he walked in the door, whistling off key, she used her one good arm and threw her bedpan at him. He raised an elegant eyebrow at her display of temper and bent to retrieve it, sitting a vase filled with spring flowers on the counter. ‘I suppose I should be grateful it was empty,’ he drawled.
Leather and Lace – Book #2
Big, blonde and handsome, he reminded Angel of a Golden Adonis.
Angel bit the inside of her cheek to keep from telling the old bat that she had plenty of perfectly beautiful gowns but none that they would deem fit for her niece. She didn’t carry flannel.
Now behave yourself or I’m going to find Nurse Wendell and tell her you need an enema.
His smile revealed several rotting teeth while his filthy, sweat stained shirt proclaimed him ‘King of the Bear Whiz Beer Belly Contest.’ Eyeing the wiggling patch of tattooed belly peeking out from the too small shirt, Sam had to agree with the declaration.
‘It never occurred to you to call the police? Contrary to popular belief, we do a bit more than fill out forms, eat donuts and drink coffee,’ he said as he raised his mug for a drink. Realizing his error, he sat the mug down on the table with a thump.
Miss Maisy had taken to coming over every day to check on Angel and make sure the place was secure. She told Angel it was her civic duty. Angel personally thought it was so she could have an excuse to check out the store and still hold her head up at the Baptist Church.
Something’s Gotta Give – Book #3
Honey, if you’ve done half of what I’ve heard, you’d be dead by now… I’m just saying, if you’re looking for something other than permanent, you can get off this porch right now, before I take a broom to your backside. My Peaches don’t need no heartache.
He really was the stuff fantasies were made of, too bad she was grounded in reality.
The thing about sugar, bitch, is that it was raised in a mean hard cane. And that’s exactly what I’m going to use on you if you ever come near my man again.
Getting Lucky – Novella
It sure wasn’t a place where winner came to win; it was more like where losers came to end it.
Love, Marriage, and Mayhem – Book #4
For some reason, the two of you keep missing what is perfectly clear to the rest of us. You belong with each other. That’s why whenever you’re in a room together, the rest of us stand back. We’re waiting for the two of you to simultaneously combust from sexual frustration.
That dress is too damn low in front. She’s practically falling out of it. I think she’s got it on backwards…
Forged in Fire – Book #5
I would appreciate it if you would sit down and let me finish. Your fire breathing dragon act is singeing my eyebrows…
Lucky wanted to laugh as the bikers backed up at her hysterical rantings. The closest one looked up at Lucky. ‘Dude, we’re a motley crew, but this chick is just plain weird, dropping off a cliff like Tinkerbell on a bad trip.
Maggie Adams has provided me with a week’s worth of highly engaging and enjoyable entertainment. I loved each book in the series but Whistling Dixie would be my favorite of the bunch. The series was a fun and delightful read that kept me entertained and engrossed throughout. Humor, romance, intrigue, and blasts of steam – all my favorite elements were covered in each installment. Ms. Adams turned in an adroitly detailed, active, and entertaining storyline that held up throughout the series. Her main characters were often overbearing, hot-tempered, and considerably flawed yet endearing and lovable people who often exasperated and vexed each other while their romantic and sensual relationships bloomed. I was an instant fan and can only hope Ms. Adams has been chained to her computer and is currently pounding it out book six.
Hi! I’m Maggie Adams, although my fan club calls me Queen Minx because I do like a bit of naughtiness with my romance! I live near St. Louis, Missouri with my husband, aka, ATTRACTIVE OVER FORTY MAN. He’s also the head of my research and development (if you know what I mean *wink*) I love dancing, cooking, reading and writing romance, especially erotic romance. I make sure each of my books have a little something about me in them, so keep your eyes open, I’m in there somewhere!
