My name is Natasha Marx, as a Sexual Clinical Psychologist I spend my days dissecting people’s minds. Helping them to move on from the shadows of their soul. But who will help me move on from mine?
The first cut is the deepest. I lean back on my chair as I contemplate that phrase. Isn’t it the sick truth? My first love is my current love and I haven’t seen him for seven years. It’s really beginning to piss me off. He’s long forgotten me. I’m being haunted by the memories of a man who no longer exists. A man whose touch leaves me wet with want, aching to be filled. Heartbroken. He’s returning to Australia after seven long years away. It’s only a matter of time before we cross paths. I’m unsure if it will be heaven or hell.

My name is Joshua Stanton. A lot of words are used to describe me, App Developer, Cage Fighter, heart breaker. What a joke. My heart has been on ice for seven years. The day she ripped it from my chest. The mention of her name makes me quiver with need. Rock hard. I have insatiable needs, needs that no other women can extinguish. I can have anything in the world that I want, but I can never have her.

My Rating:

5 hearts

Favorite Quotes:

“It’s a shame you talk.  You’re so pretty when you don’t open your mouth.”

“I moan a sound that, if I hadn’t made it myself, I would swear came from a beached whale.  I feel like I am having an out-of-body experience.”

“It seems I quite like destination pound town.  I would suggest you take the scenic route.”

“At this moment in time I am absolutely certain of three things.  Amelie is in love with Joshua and I am in love with Joshua.  And Joshua is in love with the both of us.”

My Review:

This book is stunning.  It has kept my muscle taut for various reasons.  There is considerable up and down of emotions, angst, clever humor, heartache, tension, volcanically hot sensual scenes, and drama, lots and lots of drama, and I cannot put it down.  The writing is engrossing, involving, and alternated between squeezing my heart and making me smirk.  The story is unique, interesting, and devastating, as are the characters.   They are an entertaining group of intelligent, damaged, flawed, and funny individuals.  The main protagonists are a fascinating, passionate, and volatile pair.  I was anxious for them when they fought, elated for them when they got it together, and devastated for them when it fell apart.  The sensual scenes are highly charged and I must say, my mouth actually went dry more than once.  The cliffhanger ending broke my heart but luckily, I had all three installments loaded on my beloved kindle before I started.  Crisis averted.
