(The Witch of Endor Book 2)
By Deanndra Hall
Esther “Ez” Summers believes Alan Hamlet is something more than he appears. As it turns out, there’s probably no one more qualified to or capable of helping her in her current predicament than Alan.
That’s a good thing, because there are forces who want the weird piece of metal she’s been hiding in her shoe for years. Ez doesn’t know what it is, but she knows they want it. And someone keeps sending hezzans for her, someone other than those seeking the metal strip.
Her enemies are being careful, but she knows that will only last so long and they’ll grow tired of the game. The Endorian’s first inclination is to run, but something horrible has happened.
She’s fallen in love.
Just when things can’t possibly get more complicated, along comes one more person to jump into the mix. But this time, it’s someone who might be able to help.
This time, it’s another Endorian.
Ripped Open, the second book in the Witch of Endor series, takes you back into Ez’s complicated world where love can mean death.
Well, unless it’s that you’re wearing a human suit and you’re really a lizard, I don’t know anything that you could tell me that would be more shocking than what I already know.
That guy makes underwear models look like Pee-Wee Herman!
Ez’s romance with the adorable Alan has blossomed and she has fallen in love with a human, a special kind of human. I adore Alan who is the ultimate dichotomy – a Harvard-educated Ph.D. physicist who installs and repairs heating and cooling systems. This story is imaginative, creative, emotive, and just all over the place, but I am far afield of my usual genre and having trouble keeping all the creatures and skill sets straight. I am so coveting her diffracting ability that I can barely sit still. The storyline was angsty, steamy, and fraught with an impending doom that continually plucked at my curiosity. Ez was struggling with emotion, a first for her in millions of years. Lucky for her she has Alan, who is patiently teaching her empathy.
