Kiss Me Kate (The English Brothers #6)
.by Katy Regnery
Kiss Me, Kate is the sixth of six books about the Philadelphia-based, wildly-handsome English brothers (and one lovely cousin!) who are all on the look-out for love.
Kate English, cousin to the beguiling English Brothers, has relocated to Philadelphia and now works with her cousins at English & Company. The problem with moving to Philly? It was where Kate met her first love, Etienne Rousseau. Since the move, Kate can’t seem shake the painful memories of a romance that broke her heart.
Etienne Rousseau, neighbor and arch-enemy of the English family, is recently single and has every intention of enjoying his newly-minted bachelor-status. That is…until his brother inks a deal with English & Company, forcing Etienne to work with his one-time lover, Kate English. Though he wants to hate the girl who once destroyed his life, he can’t deny the fierce attraction or hide the deep tenderness he still feels for Kate.
With vibrant flashbacks of their passionate, teenage love affair making it impossible to ignore their unresolved history, Kate and Etienne will commit to unraveling the secrets of their heartbreaking past to make way for a breathtaking future.
*All books in The English Brothers series are approximately 200 pages. The RWA classifies this as “Mid-length Contemporary Romance.”
THE ENGLISH BROTHERS
“Like any other normal, hot-blooded woman who’d ever been dumped and forgotten by an ex, she had a compulsive interest in him that was enabled by the ease of social media. Finding out about his life was this strange, irresistible weakness she couldn’t seem to overcome.”
“She wanted hot, wet, sweet, messy, filthy kisses that would make her toes curl. She wanted fingers that burned her skin like fire, lips that sucked until she screamed, and a tongue that could make stars burst behind closed eyes.”
“Had he just insulted her or complimented her? He’d somehow managed to call her fat-assed and perfect at the same time, which was sort of mean, but sort of amazing.”
“We crammed more into those days than I ever could have thought possible – enough to live on for half a lifetime. I never forgot about you, I never stopped missing you, I never stopped wanting you, and I never stopped –“
I can always count on Katy Regnery’s stories to vastly improve my mood as they are delightful, and I was much in need of a lift in spirit. I was totally entertained for the day while reading this well written and addictive second chance romance. In making my way through her English Brother stories, I have found them to be sweet, tender, and just adorable – like a Hallmark movie – yet with enough spice to flavor a savory meal, and enough steam to get all the wrinkles out of the laundry. I have treasured reading each in the series, and was nearing despair when I realized she had tapped the last of the siblings, so imagine my relief to see she had extended her scope to include their cousin. Her books are an easy read and have a gentle flow with characters that are somewhat flawed yet always endearing. And I find once I start one of her books, I fall into them and am generally occupied for the entire day, as I just cannot seem to find a place in the story to stop.
