It’s Tag Crane’s job to be the life of the party. Traveling from one exotic locale to another is just part of running the luxurious Crane Hotel empire. But even paradise isn’t perfect. Devising a new business strategy is keeping Tag up at night-and so is the Great Dane barking at all hours in the apartment below his. To muzzle the problem, Tag charges downstairs . . . right into the most beautiful, blond distraction he’s ever seen.
Dog-sitting by day, bartending by night. It’s not exactly the life Rachel Foster dreamed of. But when Tag Crane rushes in, all mountain-man shoulders and obscenely sexy smile, needing her help for the Crane Hotels, it’s a fantasy come true. What’s the harm in a fun no-strings fling? Only a fool would give her heart to a billionaire player like Tag-until suddenly the one man who can’t be caught is the one flirting with forever . . .
You probably keep the cash you win from me in a big bin and swim in it like Scrooge McDuck.
You look at me like you’re shopping for something you can’t afford.
You’re nervous about getting back on the horse… Tag Crane is a Clydesdale.
Tarzan… You’re more like Thor. Those shoulders… Bree called you a Viking billionaire.
You know what they say about hindsight… That it’s the only sight you have when your head’s up your ass?
…saw you and Flex Luthor over here working your wiles on a horde of skanks…
Isn’t that what the future is? … The present continually unwrapping itself for years to come?
Tag wasn’t Rachel’s type – at all. He was a large, longhaired, overly muscled playboy, a sexy and charming player with the reputation to prove it. She was still reeling from a bad break-up with her hypercritical ex-boyfriend who had humiliated her, stripped her of her confidence, and left her feeling inadequate in most every way. She called him Tarzan or Thor. He called her Dimples. She presented a challenge as she had repeatedly shut him down and didn’t fall at his feet the way every other woman always had, and he found himself actually chasing after a woman, a totally new and unsettling experience. Neither wanted or felt equipped to have a relationship, yet they were each unusually focused and overly attracted – and once together – they easily made a staggeringly dynamic and delectable couple. Tag helped her find her inner vixen and built back her confidence. I adored their sweet and sexy story. The characters were delightfully complicated, sweet, tenacious, and supportive. Ms. Lemmon’s plot was well crafted golden from start to finish. Her writing was enjoyable, engaging, highly amusing, clever, and loaded with sizzling sensuality and snappy banter. It was Nirvana for this old cougar.
