The ‘GirlsQuad’ ladies are back and the next chapter
of their lives is about to begin.
We re-join the girls in the small village of Quicks Green, right where we left
Brenda’s future is uncertain.
Carla is missing.
Clarissa is angry.
Davina is dealing with her mother.
The last time we were with these girls, all of them
were juggling an innumerable amount of balls in the air, their lives were in
turmoil. Each character is dealing with something in their personal life, but
as a strong and inseparable unit, they face those issues head on.
One of the girls has been holding onto a dark secret,
one that no one knows about. Which one is it? What has she been hiding? How
will they all deal with it?
GirlsQuad have a lot of living, loving and figuring
stuff out to do. One thing’s for sure… they’ll do it together.
GirlsQuad is a series and you will need to read book
one before you read this.

My Rating:

4.5 hearts

Favorite Quotes:

Hope.  It’s a word loaded with possibilities.  It’s an optimistic word, one that can build dreams or crush them in the blink of an eye.

I ignore the fact that I haven’t brushed my teeth for a couple of days, and my breath probably smells like a tramp’s underwear.

Who would’ve guessed that it would take a brain fart for me to become intelligent.

Chris was easy on the eye, it’s just a shame he was such a nob jockey – a two-timing cheat and love rat.

We’re on a mission.  Three girls striding toward the back door, looking like Charlie’s Angels on a very important task.

You know, if we shone a light in your ear, we could use your eyes as a flashlight.

My Review:

My second JA Heron GirlsQuad read and I am hopelessly addicted and permanently hooked.  I adore this diverse group of tightly bonded women and envy their friendship, easy banter, and how they can just snap at each other and get on with it.  Ms. Heron’s writing is easy to follow and her humor frequently brings a smirk to my lips, although she is just as adept at squeezing my cold heart in the next sentence.  This installment was busy with each of the four dealing with significant personal stressors as well as each other.  Carla has a shocking revelation, Brenda’s health is of concern, Clarissa is in love, and Davina’s intellectual limitations continue to leave her easily confused – with her misunderstandings providing much of the comic relief.  Ms. Heron brings both the peaks and the valleys – but always remains entertaining.

They say, ‘opposites attract’.
Some would disagree, but these four women couldn’t be more different if they tried.
These best friends have different lives, different aspirations and different outlooks on life and the way it should be.
However, they do share a few common denominators – they all work together.
Every day, they earn their living by working in a hair and beauty salon, where fun is the top style of the day.
They also live in the same little village; quiet, peaceful and where not a lot happens.
They’re all feisty and love each other fiercely.
Follow these ladies through a journey that’s packed with fun, happiness and heartache.

This story will leave you smiling, feeling happy and grateful for the life you have. GirlsQuad is coming for you, and you will be able to relate to at least one of these characters, if not all of them.
Everyone has a friend like Clarissa, Brenda, Carla or Davina.
What is the most important thing in life? The answer is friendship.
