The original Wattpad sensation – fully revised and with brand new content

Jamie Cole has just been released from juvenile detention. Determined to go straight, he tried to cut ties with crime boss Brett Reye–but Brett has no intention of letting him go. Jamie’s life is already more complicated than it needs to be, yet when he meets a beautiful stranger at a bar, Jamie knows he’s in over his head.

Ellie Pearce has just gotten out of a terrible relationship and isn’t looking for anything serious…until she meets Jamie. Their attraction is overwhelming and intense – she can’t seem to shake her growing feelings for him, even though she’s trying to keep it casual.

But when fate goes horribly wrong and Jamie’s family is faced with ruin, he’s forced to strike a deal with Brett. Despite his struggles, he wants nothing more than a future with Ellie. That’s until Ellie finds out that he’s been hiding more from her than she could ever imagine…

Favorite Quotes:

I don’t want you near me any longer; I can feel your stupidity lowering my IQ with every passing second. I need you away from me as soon as possible before I forget how to tie my shoes.

Ellie, I don’t want you to know those things because you’ll look at me differently. You won’t see me anymore… I don’t want you to view me differently. I love the way you look at me…

Probably the nicest moment I’d ever had with my mother.   It was over quickly, and she cleared her throat, moving her hand away, obviously uncomfortable with the intimacy.   It didn’t matter to me that the moment lasted for a mere few seconds. It was already ingrained in my memory, and nothing would make me forget that.

My Review:

I was unprepared for the emotional intensity of this book, which remained a constant pulse throughout the story whether it was fear, pain, angst, elation, or anticipatory hope.   I remained somewhat tense and anxious throughout, as I feared for the characters and their sweet yet fledgling relationship. Jamie’s story squeezed and tugged at my heart, his circumstances were unfair and he was trapped into following a course that was not of his choosing. The characters were endearingly flawed, well-drawn, and beguiling. I adored them and was drawn to their tale. As a couple, Jamie and Ellie were adorable and more than deserving of an HEA, which I rooted for them to achieve. The writing was well-paced, engrossing, and intriguing, and it isn’t over yet.   Thankfully, I already have the next installment, Worth Fighting For, already resting on my kindle or I would be stamping my little foot and tossing a tantrum. I am hopelessly addicted to this enthralling series.
