Go. Don’t ever come back.

Ten years ago, Sophie left home with those words ringing in her ear. She was seventeen and madly in love with a boy her father disapproved of. She still is.

Now they’re back, ready to make amends, but sometimes pride gets in the way of forgiveness.

Favorite Quotes:

Don’t let anger make this any harder than it has to be.

I watch my mother stare back at my father. She doesn’t often speak up, but when she does, my father is usually quick to cave. She may not be God himself, but in this case, she’s the next best thing.

He was a straight A student who worked hard and treated me like a princess. You saw what he wore and where he came from, but you were too blind to actually see who he was… All my life you’ve talked about God, Jesus, and the Bible being a rule book for how we live our lives, but you don’t listen to your own advice. You don’t practice forgiveness.

My Review:

Coming Home was a quick, realistic, and heartfelt holiday read of reconnecting with disapproving and difficult family members. This short and emotive story was my first experience reading Ms. Glenn’s work and I enjoyed her easy storytelling. Written from a first person POV of Sophie, whose narrative spans dual timelines 10 years apart. The storyline was engaging and easy to follow and the characters were well drawn and knowable. I adored Clay in both timelines, he wasn’t a bad boy although he looked like one. His family belonged to a biker club but he was a good student, a sweet boy and a supportive husband, her “knight in scuffed leather.” Sophie’s overly rigid and judgmental Bible-banging father was a complete and utter jackass, and uncomfortably familiar. But despite his ill behavior, Sophie and Clay appeared significantly more tolerant and willing to be forgiving of his appallingly arrogant behavior toward them, which would have taken a Christmas miracle for me to achieve.

About the Author

Geri Glenn is the Amazon best-selling author of the Kings of Korruption MC Series.

Geri has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember. She can usually be found curled up in a comfy chair, reading on her iPad both day and night. Geri is an incurable night owl, and it’s not uncommon for her to still be awake, reading at 4 am, just because she can’t put the book down!

Geri loves all genres of fiction, but her passion is anything romantic or terrifying; basically, anything that can get her heart pumping. This passion has bled out onto her laptop and became the Kings of Korruption.

Writing that first book in the series knocked off the #1 thing on Geri’s bucket list, and publishing it has been an absolute dream come true. She hopes you love the Kings as much as she does.
