♥ Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! ♥
The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer at Crazy For Books in March 2010 and ended in December 2012. Billy at Rambling of a Coffee Addicted Writer didn’t want it to end and took over in February 2013, lucky for us. The hop starts every Friday and ends on Thursdays the following week with weekly prompts. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
For This Week:
“How do you handle unsolicited books that appear in your mailbox? Do you add them to your queue? Do you write to the sender and explain you didn’t ask for the book and are not sure when you will be able to read and review the book? Or do you simply not read the book at all?”
I don’t think I’ve ever received any unsolicited book in the mail…and I don’t think it will happen any time soon. I don’t even know how they would get my address unless I give it to them or unless they’ve sent me one already before.
Although, if the time comes, I’ll probably try to contact the sender and let them know when I will be able to read and review it if I like the book or find it interesting. If not, I will let the sender know as well and ask if they want me to send it back or give it away or whatever. I don’t want to feel obliged to read and review a book I’m not interested in just because someone sent it to me.
NOTE: Check out Books and Bindings’ first ever Bookshelf Tour and get a chance to win the giveaway!
For The Readers: Have you ever received unsolicited book before? Did it make you feel obliged to read and review it? Post the link to your own Book Blogger Hop for this week or just share your thoughts below.
