The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer at Crazy For Books in March 2010 and ended in December 2012. Billy at Rambling of a Coffee Addicted Writer didn’t want it to end and took over in February 2013, lucky for us. The hop starts every Friday and ends on Thursdays the following week with weekly prompts. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
For This Week:
“This annoys me, what about you? When I click on a blogger’s name and it goes to their profile and I see more than one blog listed, how do you know which one to visit? I usually don’t visit.”
This doesn’t happen to me that often but when it does, it usually depends on my mood, how much free time I have, and how many blogs are listed. If I have all the time in the world, I will gladly browse through some, if not all, the blogs listed under the blogger’s profile. If I don’t the time to browse, I just usually bookmark the page until I have time. There are times when I don’t even bother especially when the reason I clicked on the blogger’s profile is not as interesting anyway. There are times when something catches my attention that I just have to find it.
It really is on a case-to-case basis. Sometimes I see it as an opportunity to discover more blogs I might like, but I also see it as bloggers “force-showing” readers all their blogs. Sometimes it annoys me. I personally do not like it when I go to a store to look at something specifically and a salesperson start showing me things I “might” find interesting. It annoys me so much that I don’t even look at that something I specifically came there for and just leave. I will look through it myself, thank you very much.
For The Readers: What do you do when you are forced to look at a blogger’s profile instead of the actual blog you thought you were going to be directed to when you clicked a link? Do you still try to look for the blog? Post the link to your own Book Blogger Hop for this week or just share your thoughts below.
